Our Low-Cost Counselling service offers affordable one-to-one support.
Life can feel overwhelming at times, and talking with a counsellor can help you explore what’s going on and find a way forward. Low-Cost Counselling gives you regular, supportive sessions at a reduced fee, with counsellors who will take the time to understand your needs.
If you’re aged 18 or over and looking for support, this service is open to you.
Session cost
- £25 per session
- One-off assessment fee of £15
Availability
- Daytime sessions are offered at set times each week.
How to get started
Beginning Low-Cost Counselling is simple. Once you complete the online referral form:
- We’ll contact you to talk through what you’re looking for
- We’ll explain how the service works and discuss availability
- We’ll match you with a counsellor and arrange your first session

Payments
Low-cost sessions are paid weekly, directly to South Kent Mind. We charge a one-off payment of £15 for the initial assessment and that payment is taken at the time of booking. Full details will be provided once you’ve been accepted.
Holidays and cancellations
If you're planning a break, we ask for two weeks’ notice where possible. This helps your counsellor keep your appointment time available for you.
Confidentiality
Everything you share in counselling is treated with confidentiality. Counsellors follow strict professional guidelines to ensure your privacy is respected at all times.
There are rare situations where a counsellor may need to share information if there are serious concerns about your safety or someone else’s. If that happens, your counsellor will explain what is happening and why.
Feedback
At the end of your counselling, we may invite you to complete a short feedback form. This is entirely optional, but your experience helps us continue improving the service.
