South Kent Mind Mental Elf 2025

Back for the second year running, join South Kent Mind for a run, jog, walk, wheel, or stroll around the 5km course – all in aid of better mental health in our community! 

Whether you choose to run, jog, walk, wheel, or stroll your way around the course, this event has a focus on fun and is open to all ages and abilities (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult).

Please do come dressed in your best elf costumes as in addition to the fun run, there will be entertainment and music, and prizes on offer for best dressed elf!

Everyone will be sure to enjoy themselves, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Event Details

Location: The Leas, Folkestone. Meet at The Bandstand along The Leas, CT20 2DZ.

Date: Sunday 7th December 2025

Start time: Race starts at 12:00 and warm up at 11:30, with the registration desk open from 10:30. 

This is a 5km fun run (walk, jog, run - all welcome). Festive Elf fancy dress strongly encouraged with a prize for best dressed elf!

Useful Information

Can children take part in the fun run?
Yes children are welcome but we ask that anyone under the age of 16 is accompanied by an adult.

Is it wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the course is a flat hard surfaced course and is suitable for wheelchairs.

Are there toilets?
Yes, there are toilets next to the Leas Cliff Café.

Can we bring dogs?
Yes, dogs are welcome but please ensure they are on a tight lead so as not to interfere with other fun runners.

Can I run with a buggy?
Yes, but please be careful!

I cannot make the fun run, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds, but you can transfer your ticket to family and friends. Please get in touch with us via [email protected] if you wish to do this. 

Is the event timed?
No as this event is a family fun run, we will not be timings attendees.

For this event, we have set up a JustGiving campaign page specifically for Mental Elf to make the process of fundraising and donating quick and easy to share with friends and family.

We are encouraging participants to set up their own personal fundraising page on JustGiving which is connected to this event:

  • Once you have created your own page, you can share with friends and family via Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, or even copy the link and send to anyone who wishes to donate and support your fun run!
  • All the funds you raise through your own page will contribute towards the overall amount on the Mental Elf 2025 main campaign page.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Entry & Registration
    • All participants must register through the official South Kent Mind website.
    • Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where the event is cancelled by the organiser.
    • Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  2. Health & Fitness
    • By entering, I confirm that I am physically fit and able to take part in the event.
    • I understand that it is my responsibility to seek medical advice if I am unsure about my ability to participate.
    • South Kent Mind is not responsible for any injury, illness, loss, or damage sustained during or as a result of participation.
  3. Event Safety
    • Participants must follow all instructions given by event staff and marshals.
    • Appropriate footwear and clothing must be worn.
    • The use of bicycles, roller skates, scooters, or pets on the route is not permitted (unless otherwise stated in advance).
  4. Photography & Media
    • By taking part, participants agree to being photographed or filmed, with images possibly used for promotional purposes by South Kent Mind.
    • If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify a member of staff on the day.
  5. Personal Belongings
    • South Kent Mind cannot accept responsibility for the loss or damage of personal belongings during the event.
  6. Event Changes & Cancellation
    • The organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or alter the event if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary (e.g., severe weather).
    • In such cases, South Kent Mind will notify participants as soon as possible.
  7. Conduct & Respect
    • This is a family-friendly event; participants are expected to act respectfully towards others at all times.
    • Anyone acting in a way that risks the safety or enjoyment of others may be removed from the event.
