Paws for Mind in Deal – Sponsored Dog Walk

About the Event
After the tail-wagging success of our Hythe event in May, South Kent Mind's 'Paws for Mind' sponsored dog walk is coming to Deal!
Dogs help motivate us to get out and move – which is great for our physical and mental health. ‘Paws for Mind’ is a fun and friendly sponsored dog walk along the promenade in Deal in aid of South Kent Mind, your local independent mental health charity.
Bring your four-legged friends, enjoy a scenic walk, and help us raise vital funds to continue our work supporting mental health.
Whether you’re walking solo with your pooch, or with friends and family, you’ll be taking the lead in supporting mental wellbeing in our area.
Route & Starting Point
We will meet along the promenade just north of the hedged gardens. The closest postcode is CT14 7HJ. What3words: give.sits.report. Please arrive from 10:15 so you are able to register and collect your dog bandanna.
We will follow the same route as the local Parkrun, which is a flat path along the promenade to Deal Pier, turning back towards Walmer Castle, and turning again and finishing back at the starting point. The route is approximately 5km.
How to Take Part
- Register Online: Sign up by completing our short registration form below.
- Pay the Entry Fee: Secure your place with a £5 donation (per dog) to South Kent Mind.
- Set Up Your Fundraising Page: Encourage friends and family to sponsor you. We recommend setting a target of at least £20 which will entitle your dog to a South Kent Mind dog bandanna they can wear on the walk!
- Join ‘Paws for Mind’ on 12th October!
Fundraising & Donations
Every penny you help to raise in aid of ‘Paws for Mind’ enables South Kent Mind to provide essential services and groups which support the mental health of our community.
Suggested Sponsorship Goal: £20 per participant, which entitles your dog to a ‘Paws for Mind’ dog bandanna.
How to Fundraise and Donate
For this event, we have set up a JustGiving campaign page specifically for ‘Paws for Mind’ to make the process of fundraising and donating quick and easy to share with friends and family.
We are encouraging participants to set up their own personal fundraising page on JustGiving which is connected to this event:

- Once you have created your own page, you can share with friends and family via Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, or even copy the link and send to anyone who wishes to donate and support your walk!
- All the funds you raise through your own page will contribute towards the overall amount on the ‘Paws for Mind’ main campaign page.
